Here is a really good shot from inside the cab. Receivers were welded to the front of the bed and hitch tubes welded to the cab sub frame to join the two painlessly. Anti-tip wheels were added to both the bed and cab to make them stable when uncoupled. Everything is pinned so it can be removed if you wish. Both the bed and cab can be moved and even towed independently or kept together and easily loaded onto a trailer if necessary.
Here’s the cab with the anti-tip wheel installed being moved around in the shop.
A receiver was also added to the front of the cab so it or the complete truck could be towed.
The cab being independently towed.
Inside the bed you can see the receiver tubes and how easy it is to uncouple the two units. Also note the detail along the front of the bed. The floor profile is blended into the tubing sub frame. It’s the little things that are really going to pop on this build!
A stabilizer bar was added between the bedsides when the bed is being transported. It probably wasn’t necessary though as the tubing sub frame on this bed is quite stout!
Here we are with the tow hitch installed for easy transportation.
And finally the cab and bed united and ready to tow!
