FORWARD CONTROL 'JEEP' FC-170 CALLED "BEST YET" FOR HAULING MOBILE HOMES

"For performance, maneuverability, visibility, and steady pulling power over all kinds of roads and terrain, this 'Jeep' FC-170 Truck is the best yet," says Mr. William Hoffman of LaCrosse, Wisconsin.  Mr. Hoffman and his two sons own and operate the Hoffman Trailer Sales at La Crosse.  They purchased their big dual-wheel FC-170 from Kennard Buick, 'Jeep' dealer there.  The comparatively shorter wheelbase on the 'Jeep' Truck permits Mr. Hoffman to haul longer trailers on the toll roads and highways where over-all length limitations are imposed.  He has a patented trailer mounting which enables him to hitch the trailer unit and then pull it up closer to the cab.  On the big jobs they usually start from a standstill in four-wheel drive and then shift to conventional two-wheel when they get rolling on the highway.  Mr. Hoffman also has a removable platform body to use on the FC-170 when he is not pulling mobile home units.  "It's just like having two vehicles in one," he says.
