David Bartek FC-150 |
"Although I've had a few comments on this Forum in the
recent past, I want to officially introduce myself now that my 1959 FC150 is
rolling under its own power. After purchasing it on Ebay back in July,
2012, I had it shipped to my home in Frisco, TX. I understand from the broker
acting for the PO, that the Jeep had been sitting in a barn in the Denver area
for over 10 years. So far, I've re-done the brakes (all drums, cylinders, master
cylinder rebuild and new lines) and fuel system (including a custom-built tank),
changed all fluids in engine and differentials, re-conditioned the radiator and
Donaldson air filter, added a new surge tank, points/plugs, wires, and re-built
the Solex carburetor. A new e-brake cable was added, along with 3-point seat
belts (a concession to my wife, but a good idea). Have sorted out all the
major electrical issues, so far. Never fails to gather a few people in the
parking lot on my trips to O'Reillys. |
