Here is the brush guard painted black, originally it was painted yellow done but it was yellow only because they just shot it in place and most of the yellow was overspray from the body being painted, black looks better and gives it more contrast.
These Period correct KD 254 construction equipment lights were added to give the vehicle some uniqueness. (LOL! Like it needs it!) One is red and says “Stop” and one is green and says “Pass.” The Pass lights are impossible to find. The Stop is hooked to the brake lights. The Pass is wired to a toggle in the cab.
Those are the original tires that came on this truck back in 1957. Goodyear All-Service NDT tires and they look great! Nice looking set of split rims too! Also notice the set of Warn Hubs that this vehicle wears. Many hours of work went into them to make them look so good, awesome!
What you’re looking at here is all the original door & kick panels that were in the truck were saved. The welting on the edge had come loose in a few spots so the upholsters hand stitched them back on in all the existing holes and they look factory new!
The hose hanger has been added to the arm – all old school technology, a rubber block with two holes molded in it for the hoses to run through. The tab was welded on the arm back when they made the arm support, and now the block assembly is in place to support the hoses.
Here’s another little detail that really makes this truck stand out. The license bracket was devised to hold the plate and block the rear of the plate from sight when viewed from the front. Nice touch!
